UPDATE: within minutes of posting a 3 star review the company reached out to discuss what had occurred.  The message from the manager Sean said he wished I would have contacted them prior to posting and
"I will do everything possible to make it right with you to make sure you are feeling good with doing business with us and change that review to 5 stars."  A few minutes later I received a call from Ben and to be honest I was on the defense expected to be bullied into changing my review but that wasn't the case at all.  He apologized, explained how important customer service is to them and he repeated more than once that he didn't want me to feel pressured into changing my review.  He listened to my concerns and was perfectly professional throughout, in the endhe gave me a partial refund and made sure that I was fully satisfied before we hung up.  I was very impressed by how he handled this situation, he deserves a raise.
Now I don't know about you, but to me, this is the epitome of customer service excellence.  Can I now recommend this company? Absolutely!  With the caveat that I definitely recommend getting an additional competitor's quote so you will end up with the peace of mind of knowing that you contracted not only great company, but at a great price.

Disclaimer: I did not get a comparative quote from another company and wished I had.

First of all, I will say that service was fast and professional.  I just had a few things that left me feeling icky.  A new garage door opener with remotes and new sensors was replaced today.  I felt the labor fee was on the high end of fair.  However, I do not for the life of me understand why a $259 liftmaster opener was marked up to $850.  I was told it was because they offer a lifetime guarantee.  But only one year of labor.  I asked if I could get the garage door without the guarantee and was offered a nice discount on the labor fee in return.  Good customer service for sure but still wishing I had gotten a second quote to find out if this is industry standard.  Then it came time to pay.  They accept venmo, cashapp etc. But charge a 3.5% fee for their credit card.  I wasn't prepared for that. I couldn't recommend PDX Garage Door more highly. Dispatch was great, cost was more than reasonable, service was fast and effective, James fixed a problem that I didn't even know existed in addition to what I called for. James did such a great job that I'll recommend him to anyone I hear mention issues with locks or garage doors. He's a pro. 10/10
